Sadie Hortence Gross

Winston-Salem—Sadie H. Gross, 98, of Winston-Salem passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013. She was born in Bixby, NC to Jacob Saloman and Ellen Berryman Cornatzer.

Mrs. Gross was a member of Brookstown United Methodist Church in Pfafftown.

She was honored with The Outstanding Senior Citizen award from the Pfafftown Jaycettes in 1984.

Mrs. Gross won many awards at the Forsyth County Fair for her floral arrangements.

She was an accomplished seamstress; enjoyed gardening and was a member of a gardening club.

She was a great friend and neighbor to many people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Gross; and 9 siblings.

She is survived by sons, Charles Norvell Gross (Kathleen) and Terry Allen Gross; 5 grandchildren, Scott Gross, Randy Gross (Abigail), Brian Gross and friend Tricia, Kristy Moloney (Ronan), and Leanne Heller (Jon); 5 great grandchildren, Jacob, Aoife, Saoirse, Maddox, and Jessica; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013, 2pm, at Brookstown United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 6:00-8:00 pm, at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel.
