

Vernon T. Howard, 88, died Friday morning at his residence. Born in Davie County, he retired after forty years service with Bell South and served during WW II in the European Theatre as a Combat MP in the United States Army.
Surviving family includes his wife of sixty two years, Norma McCann Howard; son and his wife Gurney and Robin Howard; grandsons Nathan and Daniel Howard; two nephews and five nieces. Mr. Howard was preceded in death by brothers Calvin and Lonnie Howard; sisters Cornelia Bumgardner and Virginia Owens.
Mr. Howard was an active member of the College Park Baptist Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He enjoyed his family and gardening.
A Funeral Service celebrating the Life of Vernon T. Howard will be conducted on Monday (1/31) 11:00 AM at the Vogler Funeral Home Reynolda Chapel, a Dignity Memorial Provider, 2951 Reynolda Road (336-722-6106). Pastor Raymond Smith, College Park Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. Family and Friends will visit on Sunday (1/30) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Vogler Funeral Home Reynolda Chapel.
