Alan M Krause

Alan M. Krause passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024 at the age of 94 after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Karen (nee Lieberman) and parent of Philip Rosenfeld (Tomoko), Laura Rosenfeld Barnes (Niall O’Donnchu), and David Rosenfeld. He was also the proud grandfather of Hannah, Kenny, Jacob, Connor, and Rory. Alan was predeceased by his brother Harold.

Alan was born on August 17, 1929 to Henry and Pearl Krause of Cleveland. He attended Western Reserve Academy and Cornell University for both his undergraduate and graduate education. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in France. In 1967 he founded Mid-America Management Corporation as the management arm of MIDAMCO, his real estate investment fund. Business was Alan’s passion as much as his vocation and his interest in Mid-America Management never waned. Philanthropy was also enormously important to Alan. He helped individuals and organizations in need throughout his life both financially and in leadership roles. Alan was also a keen swimmer since his Western Reserve Academy days, and an avid golfer. He enjoyed traveling and fine dining. Alan was a resident of West Palm Beach, FL

Services will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 11am at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel. Interment Bet Olam Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Family will receive friends at 5200 Three Village Dr. Lyndhurst (COMMUNITY ROOM) FOLLOWING SERVICES AND INTERMENT UNTIL 5 PM. SUNDAY ONLY
