

Beloved husband of 51 years to the late Sally Leizman. Dearest father of Karen Leizman Moses (Barry), Debbie (Keith Kerman), and Marc (Nancy). Loving grandfather of Peter Moses (Beth Rowe), Ethan Moses (Marisa), Sara Gibson (Henry), Hannah Kerman (Jess Feldman), Eve Kerman Wilson (Chase), Sophie Kerman, Emily Leizman, and Ryan Leizman. Devoted great-grandfather of Charlie and Mae Moses and Josie Wilson. Dear brother of the late William (Eunice, deceased), Aaron (Reva, deceased), and Ruth Schwartz (Bill Schwartz, deceased) Cherished uncle, dear cousin and loyal friend to so many. Al was the surviving member of the Regals, a lifelong group of friends from his childhood in the Kinsman neighborhood of Cleveland.
A graduate of John Adams High School, the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine, he practiced dentistry in downtown Cleveland for 45 years, where he was known not only for his skill, but for the genuine care and connection he built with his patients. Al served as a captain in the US Army working as a dentist at Fort Bliss in El Paso Texas.
Al was committed to his family and inspired them to achieve academically and to maintain an active lifestyle. He was a devoted father and grandfather who fostered and nurtured a strong family bond among his immediate and extended family hosting with Sally annual Thanksgiving and July 4th gatherings for large family celebrations. Al and Sally became Florida residents after he retired, and they were very involved in their community at BallenIsles Country Club.
Albert leaves behind his cherished companion Ann Harte. He warmly embraced Ann’s family, son Craig, daughter Alisan Shenberg (Michael) and their sons Ethan (Mary), Oliver, and Andrew. So many others were special to Al including his communities at the Cleveland Racquet Club, BallenIsles, Morse Life and congregation Mishkan Or. Additionally, Al recently received extraordinary care from the West Palm Veterans Administration primary home care, hospital and hospice personnel, the staff at Morse Life and the Visiting Angel caretakers who helped care for him over the past few months. The exceptional care Al received was a gift beyond words.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on April 26, 2026, at Congregation Mishkan Or, 26000 Shaker Blvd., Beachwood, OH 44122. The service will be live streamed on the Mishkan Or website https://www.mishkanor.org/worship/live-stream/ . The family will sit shiva following the internment until 6 PM and then from 7 till 9 PM, and on Monday from 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM at the home of Deb Leizman and Keith Kerman.
