Barry Alan Jacobs

Dr. Barry Alan Jacobs, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He was born on April 14, 1945, to Henry and Lee Jacobs and was raised in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Barry graduated from Heights High School in 1963.

He continued his education at Ohio University and Lake Erie College before earning his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University. Barry built a successful career as an accountant with TRW in Cleveland and later pursued business consulting.

Barry had a lifelong passion for computers and technology, was a devoted fan of Cleveland Guardians baseball, and found great joy in music. He also loved cooking and baking, often experimenting with new recipes to share with family and friends.

Above all, Barry cherished the time he spent with his beloved granddaughters, Lauren, Marisa, and Caroline, whom he shared with their grandmother, Marsha Lieberman.

He is survived by his son, Joshua Jacobs (Lisa); his sisters, Aleta Wohl (Raymond), Marilyn Bergman (Elliot), and Brenda Jacobs; his cherished granddaughters; and his longtime companion, Gerda Ewald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lee Jacobs.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery in Solon, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or in Barry’s memory to an organization supporting education, technology, or youth programs.
