Carol Frankel

Carol J. Frankel (nee Shenkan), beloved wife for 37 years of Morton S. Frankel, died peacefully in Naples, FL on January 14. She is survived by daughter Janet Shensa DeBevoise (Charles) and son Robert Shensa Frankel; Debbie Feiner (Michael), Steve Frankel (Debbie Rudoy), Mitchell Frankel (Susan) and Rick Frankel (Alex Teller); 11 grandchildren, Daniel Feiner (Angela), Lisa Feiner Walko (Jason), David Feiner, Gardner Frankel, Josh, Daren and Alex Frankel, Henry, Robbie and Teddy DeBevoise, Lake Frankel; 4 Great-Grandchildren Sebastian and JJ Feiner, Blake and Taylor Walko, brother Sidney Shenkan (Virginia) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her first husband Dr. Stanley H. Shensa. Born in New Castle, PA to Alvin and Sally (nee Salomon) Shenkan on Dec. 15, 1932, Carol attended The University of Michigan and graduated from Goucher College. She was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority. She received a Master’s Degree in Retail Merchandising from the University of Pittsburgh and was employed by The Higbee Company in the late 1950’s. She was an active member of many organizations and served on the board of Trustees for Plan of Northeast Ohio, National Council of Jewish Women, Mt. Sinai Hospital, Jewish Family Service and Menorah Park. She was a member of The Oakwood Club, Mayfield Country Club and Quail Creek Country Club. She loved to spend time on the golf course with her husband. She was committed to her dear family, lifelong friends and the community which she cared for so deeply. Services will be held Sunday, January 18 at 11:00AM at The Temple Tifereth Israel, 26000 Shaker Blvd., Beachwood. Interment Lake view Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at 5200 Three Village Drive, Lyndhurst IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING INTERMENT UNTIL 5:00PM and again from 7:00-9:00PM.
