It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of David Edward Crows, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away on October 28, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on April 5, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, David was the son of Harry and Josephine Crows and the younger brother of the late Robert (Bob) Crows. Not one to follow society’s norms, David made a strong impression on all those around him. His incomparable blend of unfiltered honesty and warmth quickly endeared him to all those that were able to withstand the initial shock of his unique nature. A skilled and self-taught craftsman, David had a knack for creating and fixing things around the house, especially the houses of neighbors and friends. He also had a special love for life’s simple pleasures — a good chili dog, the perfectly constructed sandwich, and a properly-poured beer.David’s greatest pride was his two sons, Evan and Jacob. Watching them grow into the husbands and fathers they are today brought him immense joy. He adored his daughters-in-law: Jordan and Carey; and four grandchildren: Anabelle (8), Elise (5), Mara (3), and Isaac (4 months). David is also survived by his niece, Hilary, and ex-wife, Ellen. Join us in celebrating David’s life at a memorial service on Friday, November 1, at 10:00 a.m. at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz, 1985 South Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118. Later that afternoon, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., the family will receive friends at the residence of Evan Crows, 21515 Aberdeen Rd., Rocky River, OH 44116. Friends who wish may contribute to the Jewish Family Services Association of Cleveland, which helped David – and countless others – access support in times of need. As we remember David, let’s honor the joy he brought into our lives. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
