David is survived by his son John (Rabbi Sharon) Marcus and daughter Laura (Jeff-dec.) Hahn of Fort Mill, SC; his dear grandchildren Becky and Noa Marcus and Jenna and Theo Hahn; He is also survived by his caring brothers Herb (Cookie) Marcus and Marty (Lois -dec) Marcus, plus, many nephews and nieces. Additionally, his good friend and former wife, Jan Bohne survives him.
David graduated from Shaker Heights High School and attended Ohio State University. He had a big personality, if you met David once you were his friend for life. Many of his friends called and texted him over the last week to check in and say goodbye. His iPhone always seemed to have a low battery from overuse. David was a natural salesman, always looking for his next adventure. He lived in various cities across the country but preferred the warmth of South Florida and Southern California, or the bright lights of Las Vegas. He had his greatest success in Atlanta, where he was a pioneer in the men’s discount/factory warehouse clothing business, growing a chain of 4 stores ringing Atlanta’s perimeter.
His final adventure was driving from Las Vegas to South Carolina with Laura in 2021 during the pandemic to live closer to her and her family.
