

(nee Gordon), 91 passed away in Beachwood, Ohio on Jan 29, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Harvey H. Rosen. Loving mother of Sharon (Matt) Weisfeld, Lori (Cliff) Berman and Ellen Rosen. Devoted grandmother of Stacy and Stephanie Weisfeld, Gregory (Elizabeth Kovan, fiancée) Berman, Jeremy (Sarah Zerod) Berman and Melanie Berman. Dear sister of Ann (Jerry) Adelman.
Edna was born in Cleveland and grew up on the west side. She graduated from Flora Stone Mather (now part of Case Western Reserve University) with a degree in sociology. After graduating, Edna worked at Jewish Vocational Services until 1956, when she married Harvey Rosen and moved to Toledo, Ohio, where Harvey opened his optometry practice. Edna was an active volunteer in numerous organizations. She was board president of the Toledo Jewish Family Service, president of the Ohio Optometric Associate Auxiliary, and served as the first woman president of Temple B’nai Israel in Toledo, where she became a Bat Mitzvah in 1990. One of her proudest accomplishments was starting the Young Singles Program for the Toledo Jewish Federation from 1980-1985, which led to 11 marriages.
Edna and Harvey were always focused on family and friends, frequently gathering around the dining table with them. They were also avid opera fans and traveled extensively. Edna loved to read and was a lifelong learner. In 2012, Edna and Harvey returned to Cleveland, moving to Wiggins Place, where they made many new friends. They were married for 58 years prior to Harvey’s death in 2015.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 2 at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 S. Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights. Interment is at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Family will receive friends following services and interment until 6 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at the residence of Sharon and Matt Weisfeld, 1938 Aldersgate Drive in Lyndhurst.
