Howard was a great friend that contributed significantly to ASME Machine Tool Standards. We will always remember the marvelous times every year in Longboat Key, FL discussing standards and wandering up and down the white beach. Howard holds a warm place in the hearts of many that I know. He will be missed dearly.  My prayer is that others will choose to follow in his noble footsteps and that family finds Christ-given comfort that is theirs for asking.

It has been my pleasure and privilege to get to know Howard working with him the past few years at CFT.  His professional accomplishments speak for themselves, but his eternal optimism and kindness really distinguished him among the many fine people I've known in my life.  This came through even with his physical challenges of the past few years.   When we had our little chats at work, he probably didn't know that he and his daughter Kim, who picked up an extra helping of her Dad's unselfish, big-hearted kindness, served as a reminder and check on myself to be less selfish, negative, and more giving as was innate in him.  I regret that I wasn't able to attend his memorial service in person but grateful to be able to view it remotely and grieve with his family and friends all over the world.     With prayers of sympathy and support, Godspeed to the Whalley family.  

Thanks for all the great memories, Howard. He will always remain in my heart and mind. I am truly grateful for the moments we shared.  

Always loved hearing about your boats, stopping in to see you at the yacht club and randomly running into you while I was out and about. Let’s not forget the time you dove into Lake Erie to save a boater that crashed into the break wall! A true hero! God Bless you & the family.

Dear Whalley Family:

While it has been many years since I worked for you, I want to express my sincere condolences and tell you how sorry I am to hear that Howard has passed. Howard was so much more than my boss, he and Avis and their kids were friends that treated me like family when I was far from home and trying to build a life while getting a college degree.  I will never forget how he  gave me a roof over my head and took me in like one of his own kids.   I will always be indebted to Howard and your family for always being there for me. May Howard’s memory always be for a blessing.

Our Dearest Howard
Now you are gone,may you join Avis and All your beloved Family. We are very sad to loose our more than 40 years Friend. We both build a great team between France and USA. Ohio was the every year place of our visits allying both business and family friendship. We loved you and we already are missing you. But in France you will stay alive forever in our memory.

Howard was my best friend growing up in Cleveland. We shared many great memories of good times (and some losses) over the past 70 years! I will never forget his broad grin and sly sense of humor. We were more like brothers than just friends and he will be missed by all who knew him. My wife, Frieda, was one of his fans, as well.
