Ida Mann Melnick

IDA MELNICK (nee Mancovitz, aka Mann), age 93, died June 4, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Paul for over 50 years; devoted mother of Janice (Mark) Sockness of Novi, MI and Judge Rich (Lori) Melnick of Brush Prairie, WA; loving grandmother of Zack Melnick (Joel'ene Bogle) and Ben Melnick (Kelly McFadzean); dear sister of Harry and Abraham Mann (both deceased). Ida graduated from University of Akron with a Bachelor's Degree in education in 1944 and received her Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin. She worked on her Doctorate while attending Columbia and UCLA. Ida taught English at college and high school level and found time to work with her husband, Paul, in his dentist's practice as his office manager. Ida was married to Paul for over 50 years until his passing in 2003. She learned to be a great cook for her family. Paul and Ida loved to travel, seeing much of the USA and the world together. Ida was generous, smart and kind, loved by many. Graveside services will be held in Mayfield Cemetery, 2749 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland Hts., on Tuesday, June 9 at 11 AM.
