

IRENE KRAVITZ KNIPPER (nee Burkons), age 96, died peacefully at home Thursday morning March 24, 2016. Devoted wife of Roger Knipper and the late Elmer Kravitz; beloved mother of Dr. Larry Kravitz and Jackie (Timothy) Stanley; loving grandmother of Michael and Jamie Kravitz and Shana (Eric) Raymond; delighted great grandmother of Silas; dear sister of Carl, Bernard, Sidney and Philip Burkons (all deceased); dearest friend of Jean Brown for 81 years; close cousin and favored aunt to a large and devoted family. Irene was active in ice skating, golf, tennis and other sports throughout her life, and was a continuous patron of the arts. She loved her winters in Sarasota, and dancing to jazz greats with her husband. Above all, she reveled in her fulfilling social life with friends and family. Services will be held at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, 23737 Fairmount Blvd., Beachwood on Monday, March 28 at 11:30 AM. Interment Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Knipper residence, 26907 N. Woodland Rd., Beachwood MONDAY FOLLOWING BURIAL UNTIL 8 PM, and TEUSDAY THROUGH THURSDAY FROM 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
