

Irving R. Berger of Beachwood, OH passed away on March 4, 2025 at age 99. Irv was born on January 16, 1926 in Beaver Falls, PA to Albert & Elsie Berger. He grew up in Cleveland and graduated from John Hay High School. After high school he enlisted in the Army, where he served under General Patton. After the war, Irv attended Fenn College (Cleveland State University) and got his degree in Business Administration. He met his wife Marilyn, and they were married in 1949 until her death in 2008. He went to work for his father-in-law at the accounting firm of Louis A. Blue and Associates where he became a partner. He practiced accounting into his mid-eighties. Irving also was a co-founder of Beachwood 100, a non-profit organization that supports the first responders of Beachwood. He was also an avid golfer and loved following all the Cleveland sports teams.
He is predeceased by his wife Marilyn, nee Blue. He is survived by his two children, Karen Williams (Denny deceased), and Alan (Bonni). His grandsons Loren (Shira) and Joshua (Marni), and his six adored great grandchildren, Eitan, Liel, Shai, Theo, Bettie and Mae. Devoted companion of many years, Beverly Kritzler. Thanks to his loving caregiver, Linda Tate.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 6 at Bet Olam Cemetery, 25796 Chagrin Blvd. Beachwood, at 3:00 P.M. Shiva will be observed at the home of Alan and Bonni Berger, 25373 Bridgeton Dr. in Beachwood, following services until 8, and on Friday, March 7 from 1-5.
