

Jack Spector, age 93, son of Louis and Sadie Spector and brother of Eleanor Freiberg (all deceased), was born on April 11, 1921 and died on February 19, 2015. He lived in Cleveland, Ohio for almost 94 years. Jack graduated from John Adams High School in 1938 and then went to Ohio State University before being drafted. He married his high school sweetheart, Sylvia Goldberg in 1941. Jack was the owner of Louis Spector & Son Painting Company. He loved playing golf, reading the New Yorker, watching sports, traveling, and adored all kinds of food cooked by his wife. Jack is survived by Sylvia, his wife of 73 years and three daughters; Paula Cohen of Boston, MA, Fran Spector Atkins (Jim) of Carmel, CA, and Amy Jenkins (Matthew) of Cleveland, OH. He has 15 grandchildren; Flynn Cohen (Liz Simmons) of VT, Gwen Cohen of Aspen, CO, Abby Watson (Greg) of Portland, OR, Claire Landry (Matt) of NYC, Andrew Atkins (Alison) currently stationed in Leavenworth, KS, Jane Atkins Franch (Adam) of Berkeley, CA, Kiefer Atkins (Shannon) of Seattle, WA and Riley Atkins (Maureen) of Seattle, WA. Jack has five great grandchildren; Gabe, Skylar, Karyn-Ann, Maxwell, Lillian and Lola. He was a kind, loving, sensitive, hard-working and intellectually curious man. He will be missed.
