Jeanie D. Furth (nee Douglas), beloved wife of the late George W. Loving mother of Douglas (Jane), Thomas, James , Barbara F. Jeans and step mother of David and the late Larry Furth. Devoted grandmother of Daniel (Emma), Alyssa and Sarah Furth, Andra, Jessie and Leah Jeans. Dear sister of Andrew (Sue) Douglas and the late Bill (Emmie) Douglas, Sal Tompkins and Liz Wagner. Jeanie was born in Motherwell, Scotland in 1922. She was a school teacher, the first female political reporter for the Toledo Blade, and after earning her PHD in child psychology, Jeanie worked in the Cleveland Public Schools. Jeanie enjoyed politics, attending services at Parkside Church, and above all else, her family and friends. Private services were held. Family will receive friends at the residence, 359 Rainbows End, Aurora, OH 44202, SATURDAY September 12, 1 PM-6 PM. Friends who wish may contribute to the Seidman Cancer Center, c/o The University Hospitals of Cleveland or Rainbow's Babies and Children's Hospital.
