Dear Buzz,
I was just looking up Judy to say hello and saw that she has died.
I am so surprised and saddened to read this and know what joy she brought to so many. We all shared many good times in Sharon.
 I had talked to her last year and found out you had spent time in Ft. Myers. We have moved to Venice so we were hoping to meet at some time. 
This news is so sad. We are deeply sorry.

So saddened to hear of Judy's passing.  She was someone I always enjoyed being with...loved being on the court with her.   We became grandparents around the same time and I remember her joy  and pride in all their accomplishments.   Judy was a good one!  

Dear Buz and family,  I cannot express how shocked and saddened I am after finding out of Judy‘s passing.. I have been crying on and off all day and calling people that may not have known. Although I am very upset and so sad for all of you, I am remembering so many fabulous and fun times we shared. I joined a tennis drill probably 27 years ago at RCE and Judy was the coach. And boy was she a coach!
Yes, she taught me how to play tennis but most of all befriended me and took me under her wing. We would stay late  after drill and just talk about family, friends, and life in general.  Our friendship quickly grew into lunches or coffee dates many times with Robin. We would celebrate our birthdays together at lunch and share lots of pictures of our families. When a spot opened for a Varsity B/JV tennis coach at Orange she approached me to work with her.  We had a great run together for many years and were a great team!  Judy and I would always make sure we met before her and Buzz went to Florida for the winter and last year was no different, . It was a beautiful day in November, I picked up coffee and we met at Legacy spending a long time together. Neither of us wanted to leave because the weather was so unusually beautiful and I knew I wouldn’t be seeing her till the spring. I have lots of good memories as all of you do!   May the memory of the beautiful person Judy,  carry you through this difficult time.   Bobby is sending his love and condolences also.        Love, Michelle

I’ll always remember our first meeting…In January of 1992, when I hesitantly left my life in Florida for a new life in Cleveland because of Gabe’s job. My husband was having lunch with Buz, whom he used to work with at the Foxboro Company. Gabe called me & said Judy would join them and asked me to come and meet her. Feeling sad and depressed, I reluctantly went…Judy was so friendly and gracious and drove me through beautiful areas of Moorland Hills and Hunting Valley. Sharing the same feelings about moving as I had.  We immediately became friends since then…

I joined her ladies tennis clinics, which were so much fun, and learned so much from her…” move those flat feet!” “Keep your eyes on the ball!” back to basics but always hear her reminders to this day!

There are so many fond memories, but I had to share my “first” sharing many family times together. On one of their visits to us in our home in Longboat Key, Florida, we were given a plaque “Friends Don’t Get Any Better than You.”  Well, BACK AT YOU, JUDY!

You will be sorely missed…. May God wrap His loving arms around you, Judy…

 

My heart felt sympathy and condolences to Judy's family and the many friends who knew and loved her. Having started our friendship as 'crib babies' in 1947 we remained friends for life. After high school we send each other birthday cards and emails for over 50 years. We remained current in each others lives although we only saw each other on rare occasions, the last time in March of 2016.  I received a lengthy Birthday card from her in the mail just yesterday....send only last week. This treasured letter will always serve as a reminder of our friendship and the truly amazing person she was. All of our lives were enriched by knowing and loving Judy.

Judy was always kind and gracious, but as the fierce competitor she was on the golf course there was no one I enjoyed losing to more than Judy.   I’ll miss our Sunday morning matches. 

Buz and family,
It broke my heart to hear this news. I’m so, so sorry for your deep loss.  My group of tennis buddies took Judy’s clinics for years, and it was always the highlight of my week. We simply loved playing under her tutelage. To this day, whenever I hit a boneheaded shot, I can see Judy on the sidelines rolling her eyes and putting her head on her knees. And when I’d hit a great shot and she praised me, I felt like a first-grader being given a gold star by my favorite teacher.  Later, I often ran into her at the pie counter at Miles Market on our way home, and we’d laugh about the morning. She was a delight in every way, and an honor to have known. 

Later, I also had the honor to meet Buz, and was so impressed by the two of you together. I’m just so sorry that the fates have broken up your team.  You Besslers hang in there and hold each other close. And thank you for sharing your Judy with us.

I met Judy through tennis but her lessons went far beyond the courts. Judy then met my “boyfriend” Arnie as her new student and every week asked us when we were going to get married.  So we did.  Judy and Buzz were guests at our wedding. Judy B was one very special lady and our thoughts are with you, her loving family. We are so sad. Love, Carol and Arnie.

Good bye my dear friend.  I will miss your phone greeting of “Hello Girlfriend” and “It’s Judy B”.  You enriched my life more than words can say.  You gave meaning to the phrase true friend.

I don't know  if you realized what a special friend I felt I had in you.  You had a way of making me and others feel special; your kindness, gentle manner, compassion...I just hope you knew how much you meant to me.  May you rest peacefully in God's arms.

As Judy's cousin, we always spent Thanksgiving with the Soyka family in Long Island. One year, Judy decided to give Bootsy, their dachshund, some peanut butter. Remember her and Lenny both imitating poor Bootsy, with the peanut butter stuck to the roof of his mouth. 

My other memory was gathering for dinner with the Judy, Lenny and their parents in Florida. I hadn't seen Judy or Lenny for many years and it was so fun to catch up.  I only wish we had the opportunity to spend more time together.

So sorry to hear this sad news. Judy was a wonderful gym teacher to our children when they attended the Agnon school. They adored her and she added so much to the gym program and to the student body. May her memory be for a blessing.

I was so sadden to hear of Judy’s passing.  I have taken her tennis clinics for many years.  She even coached our orange inter club team.  I still hear her voice in my head when I play tennis giving corrections and applauding a well played point.  My sincerest condolences to her family who I know she loved dearly.

To Judy's family,
I only knew Judy for a few years at Fiddlesticks.  She was one of those people that arrives, makes friends and has an instant place in your heart. She was genuine and true and a friend I felt like I would have forever.  She was loved by many here in our golf groups and was what I call a "keeper".  Always a positive attitude-- never a complainer, always willing to help me as she was a superb athlete and I am not.  I trusted her and knew she was the kind of woman that lifted up other women, never tearing them down.  I will miss her terribly as I know everyone whose lives she touched will. I offer her family my condolences and maybe somehow it helps them to know how much she meant to us all here at Fiddlesticks. 

Dear Buzz, Rob, and Laura,   We are so sorry to hear the news about Judy - she was in a class all her own and one of the strongest women we will ever know.   Her outlook on life was one of facing everything head-on and dealing with it as opposed to giving up.   She was my personal "Shero" in that regard.   
We had so many great times together in the old, old days of Sharon.  We kept in sporadic touch thru these many years but we always had great "Catch-Up" conversations and reveled in triumphs of the kids and kiddies and all life-cycle events.   Not enough conversations to make up for the distance,  but love and concern at both ends.   
We are so sorry for your loss;   she was,truly,  a great woman and lady.
