Dear Larry,
Still missing your smart humor and wonderful Oscar parties that you and Julie created each year … no doubt you are actually meeting and laughing with those actors who have passed on… 
And Julie, may you have some solace in the memories that you and Larry created together.   He is missed by you and your family in ways we can’t measure, I am sure.

It's been a bit of a while,  but never too long to forget and recall the joy and laughter you brought to all who were in the room with you, Larry.   Julie,  I know his life with you was beyond any words  I could say here - may you derive strength  knowing that we all care deeply.

Our family was sad to hear of Larry's untimely passing. He was one of the fines people who came into our lives. Blessed with a gentle heart, quick wit, dry humor and keen intelligence; Larry gave our family some of our funniest memories and best stories. We were lucky to have known him. Thank you for sharing your wonderful Larry with our family. 

Larry was a friend who always had time for you - He was one of the busiest lawyers I knew BUT there was never a time if you were before him professionally or personally that you did not receive his complete attention.  He loved his family and there were few conversations that one would have with him that he failed to mention his wife Julia or his children. Larry was that person whose presence added to your life.  The legal community is missing a truly kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable person with his passing.   Prayers for Julia and his family....

My deepest condolences to Larry's family. We were in the same graduating classes at both Roosevelt Junior High [https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=10216681432058724&set=gm.1810300095702727; 2nd row from front, third in from L] and Cleveland Heights High (CHHS, January'63), and consequently were often in the same classes. I recall that his reddish hair stood out in most groups or crowds, and that he  was of "short" stature ; however, even more outstanding were his quick mind, deep intelligence, and articulate contributions to so many of our classes--from English, to history, to math, and to physics.  (We also attended WRU at the same time, though I don't recall us being in any of the same classes.)  He was a true mensch. May you and your extended family nourish your best memories of Larry by relating stories about his life to each other and, of course, to his granddaughter.  -- Dan Kirschner, Brookline, MA

Larry's passing is beyond Shocking to me. I am Stunned. 
He embraced Retirement and was cheated out of a lengthy one. 
I looked forward to Pre-Trials, when Magistrate Loeb was on my calendar. 
The Lakeside Courthouse is truly in Mourning. 
May His Memory be a Blessing.

Love, warmth, compassion, patience, humor, generosity, intelligence. Words I would use to describe Uncle Larry. I found him to be a calming constant in a world often filled with turmoil. He was a role model for me.  A family man, successful professional and truly lovable  guy.  He had great dedication to doing and being good, and it came naturally to him. I will miss him and am grateful for the memories, all fond. He will permanently remain in a special place in my heart and my deepest condolences go out to all who loved him. 

Dear Julia and Family,

We are so saddened to hear of Larry’s passing.  Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences on your tragic loss.  Living across the street from you those many years in Shaker our most vivid memories are of you and Larry  gardening.  Not having any talent ourselves in that area we admired your abilities and beautiful results.  You both were lovely and wonderful neighbors and we missed seeing you when you moved.  Occasionally, I would run into you Julia and it was always a pleasure.   Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult  time.  May Larry’s memory be a blessing and you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

The courtroom corridors hold the echo of Larry's booming laugh.  His love of family made him a great man and in turn helped so many other families.  My heart and sympathy is with you, Julie and your children and precious granddaughter.  

An old neighbor from Lomond remembers Larry from Lomond Assn. and other Lomond functions.  Julia I would see more often but always such a pleasant, happy family.  Life goes by too fast.  My sincere condolence to the entire family.  A life well lived with happy memories to soften the sadness you feel.

Larry has been and remains a powerful, gentle voice and presence in my heart. He always will be. He’s been there for as long as I’ve been able to make memories, I have many with him, and none of them—not one—is other than that of a deeply decent human being whose company is warm, energetic, moral, and aggressively hilarious—truly the most accomplished champion of my family’s brand of humor. His intelligence, curiosity, humility, and guilelessness have been fundamental and guiding for me; always. As a kid and an adult I watched him assess the right thing to do and try to do it, for big and small things, over and over again. Seeing him with Liana remains in my memory a monument to how to be with a child: so much love, so gentle, and infinitely patient.
Some of the best memories I have are of long talks with him – usually after everyone else went to bed—we’d talk about parenting, family (his parents, my dad), Vietnam, science, history—my god he loved history. It remains astonishing to me how well-read he was, how good his guidance was on what to read, how sincerely curious (but humble) he was and how interesting he was in conversation.
I won’t get over his sudden loss. Those memories are already a blessing, I’m keeping them, will write them down, leave them woven together with our recent conversations and the ongoing internal dialog I’ve had with him since I was a child, a really long time ago. He was a constant for me and my brother, often like a parent, he and Julie always a safe haven and a compass pointing towards decency and kindness. My heart is broken but will serve to carry him with me always.


Larry, you were a warm and funny guy who always had a story to tell ... and you and Julie were the perfect hosts for your annual Oscar parties.  May you and Charlie and Judy R. know how much you will be missed, and Julie and Charla, please know that a circle of love surrounds you and your children and your grandchildren.
