I WAS DEEPLY SADDENED TO HEAR OF LOREN'S PASSING. HE WAS A LOVELY MAN.

Dear Lita, I was terribly saddened to learn that Loren had passed away.At my age I am experiencing the loss of old friends which I'm losing almost daily.I am confident that the many people you will hear from were not acquainted with Loren as long as me. We were both on the Shaker High golf team back in the 1940's and we played together many times.Please accept my deepest sympathies.  Sincerely, Jimmy Rosenbaum

LEXINGTON SETTLEMENTS LTD.

Loren came to Heights Arts gallery to read his poems for the Heights Writes committee. Because of the fresh view in his "industrial poems", and his observations of everyday life from his vantage point, he was appointed the second Poet Laureate of Cleveland Heights.  I remember sitting there at the table enjoying what he brought.  I am fortunate that I will always have that, and the wonderful words he left.  I send my deepest sympathy to all of Loren's family and friends.

I worked for Loren from 1973 to 1998, when he sold Pressure Castings, Inc. He did whatever had to be done to keep PCI open and keep the employees working.  That is what I remember most about him.  My deepest condoences to his family and friends.

I met Loren soon after he became Poet Laureate of Cleveland Heights.  He was such a gentle, kind-hearted man and wonderful poet.  I am so glad I had the chance to know him and to enjoy many laughs at readings together.  Sincere condolences to his family.

I knew Loren from his poetry.  I'm sad to hear he's gone.

I did not know Loren personally, but I do want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I know personally, losing a loved one is one of the hardest things any of us will ever have to do,or cope with.

Even in your sadness, I hope you can hold on to the thought that a life lived with so much passion, will never be forgotten. 

During this time, I pray for Family and Friends: to comfort you, have the faith the uphold you, and loving memories to help you smile again.

Lita, we in the poetry community will so miss Loren.  He was a fun enthusiast, fitting in with the youthful throng at our readings.

A better brother no one could have. We played holiday football together, skated Marshall Lake, batted golf balls on the school grounds, sold soda pop at the tennis courts and so much more. Although were miles apart he was always in my thoughts.

I only got to know Loren about 18 months ago when we worked together on Oakwood. He told me about his daughter's last effort to save Oakwood. What a nice man. I wish he were still around to help us.The world needs all the people like Loren it can get. My sympathies to his family.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Loren for over forty years, not only as an employee but as my best friend.  He will always remain in my heart and in the hearts of anyone who knew him.  I will miss him dearly.

I admired Loren's longing to grow and develop as a writer. And he did. Condolences to Lita and the family.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Loren Weiss. I had the greatest respect for Loren and will miss working with him as a member of the Poet Laureate Committee. He had an admirable love for poetry and a remarkable sense of humor. My affectionate respects to the Weiss Family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I knew Loren as a fellow poet, and a man of spiritual depth. He will be missed.
