I was shocked and saddened to hear of Lori's passing. She was a very sweet lady and I'm glad to have known her during her time with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.  When she lived on Pembrook in Cleveland Heights it was my pleasure to drive her to work on occasion.  It was always a pleasure talking to Lori.

Professor Solomon was my instructor in both International Relations and Model UN, during the latter of which I had the honor to be one of the 19 students to attend the Model of the UN of the Far West in San Francisco. My experience there was filled with not only tears and laughter, but also the invaluable knowledge, meaningful conversations, lasting friendships and a greater understanding of humanity that I would have never acquired without Professor Solomon's help, her leadership and her desire for her students to see and learn about the world they may have not yet seen or learned before. Because of that, I am forever grateful.

Lori was a wonderful colleague and office mate at Capital University.  She was interesting and interested in conversations--what enjoyable times.  She really wanted what was best for her students, especially those in the Model UN courses!  We miss her and will continue to miss her.

  I worked with Lori at Capital University.  It was a shock to hear of her passing.  She had a big impact on the students she taught, and on those of us who were continually inspired by her enthusiasm for teaching.  We have lost a teacher, wonderful colleague, and close friend.  Below is the notice I sent to her former students yesterday:

            It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing yesterday, Feb. 19, 2013, of Lori Solomon. She was 52.  Prof. Solomon served the department and university for several years.  She devoted a great deal of time and effort to teaching students in Global Awareness, International Relations, International Organizations, and Model United Nations courses at Capital.  In 2011 and again in 2012 she taught the Model UN course and took a total of 19 students to the Model United Nations of the Far West in San Francisco.  

            She will be remembered as a caring friend, innovative colleague, dedicated teacher, and as someone who took so much joy from the success of her students.  She will be missed.

May you know no further sorrw. I am very sad to learn about Lori. She was a bright and shining mind and an interesting intelligent woman. Your loss is immeasurable.

I had the honor to have Ms. Solomon as a Professor for both International Relations and Model U.N.  She was an amazing teacher who wanted to see her students succeed.  She ad joy in helping others and was so passionate about making a difference.  I am so sorry for your loss.  She made an impact on me in the short time i knew her, so i can not imagine the impact she made on those who loved her.
