

Malcolm Cole, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on June 21, 2025. Mal was born on December 28, 1932, to Herbert and Dorothy Cole and is preceded in death by his loving sisters Annette (Dave) Solsky, and Estelle “Cookie” (Ben) Zide.
Mal was a graduate of Glenville High School and was actively involved in BBYO, where he met and married his sweetheart, Arlene (nee Portman, now deceased). He briefly attended The Ohio State University before returning home to Cleveland, to raise a family and embark upon his career. Mal managed the iconic American Army & Navy Store on Prospect Avenue before opening his own sporting goods stores (Malco Sporting, also on Prospect Ave., and Tiger’s Den Sporting Goods at Cedar-Lee).
Mal is survived by sons Herbert (Judy) Cole of Atlanta, GA; Bryan (Amy) Cole of Gaithersburg, MD; Jeffrey (Karen) Cole of Atlanta, GA; and Keith (Brenda) Cole of Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren: Rebekah (Richard) Taylor, Katy (Michael) Moxley, Hallie (Michael) Goldenhorn; Jennifer (Amirali) Agha-Khan; Jakob, Kasey, Dylan, along with six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel on June 24 at 11 AM. Interment at Mount Olive Cemetery in Solon. To view this service, please scroll down to the "Services" Section and click on ”JOIN LIVESTREAM”.
One day of Shiva will be observed at 70 Easton Lane in Moreland Hills, OH 44022 until 5 PM.
