Marjorie Schoenfeldt Mellon

MARJORIE “MARGE” MELLON (nee Schoenfeldt) died August 14, 2010 in Cleveland, Ohio. Beloved wife of Philip for over 49 years; devoted mother of Laura Rudary (Jim), Sharon Mermelstein (Evan) of Alpharetta, GA and Linda Correll of Chicago, IL; loving grandmother of David and Eric Rudary, Ryan and Ilana Mermelstein; loving and devoted daughter of H. Robert and Jeanette Schoenfeldt (both deceased); dear sister of Lyle Schoenfeldt (Wanda) of NC, Charles Schoenfeldt of IL and Cynthia Cooper (Jenny Clarke) of NY; cherished aunt of Beth, Alex, Sarah, Matt, Jessie, Joe, Ted, Steve and Rob; dearly loved friend of many. Marge graduated from John Carroll University with a Master’s Degree in Special Education to become a special education teacher for the learning disabled. Marge was active within the Cleveland Council Reader’s Theater, helping bring joy to the children participating. She was a volunteer reading tutor at the Buckeye Woodland Elementary School in Cleveland and a volunteer at the Holden Arboretum as well. Marge was an avid golfer and tennis player, loving any outdoor activity as well. She liked playing bridge as it brought her into closer contact with her friends. Marge was a lover of life and people. She was truly a giving and caring person. Services will be held at BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1985 S. TAYLOR RD., CLEVELAND HTS., Monday, August 16 at 2 PM. Interment in Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Rudary residence, 33560 Arlesford Dr., Solon, MONDAY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING INTERMENT UNTIL 8 PM, THEN TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY FROM 2 TO 4 AND 6 TO 8 PM ONLY.
