Marty’s life was defined by hard work and being a craftsman of his trade in the jewelry business, but most of all his life was defined by his kind heart, good nature, warmth and devotion to the many lives he touched.
Marty spent most of his working life in the jewelry business, displaying his considerable artistic talent in the many pieces he designed and his great salesmanship as a general manager of Sol Bergman Jewelers for many years. Those who knew Marty, knew him as an impeccable dresser – a man who was never seen without a necktie or eye-catching hat. He loved fashion and always enjoyed playing the role of fashion advisor when shopping with family members or friends.
Marty had a passion for dining out. He knew every restaurant he had ever dined at: the name, the décor, the service, and what he had eaten. Marty also had a passion for cars. He kept up with all the car models through the years. He loved going to auto shows, the Cleveland Auto Museum, and advising others on what to buy.
Marty loved his children, just being together and taking them on all kinds of excursions. His greatest joy came in being a grandfather. He cherished every moment with his twelve grandchildren and they in turn revered him. And he was thrilled at the arrival of his two great grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years Susan; sons Todd Cahen (Sue) and Steven Zweig (Theresa); daughters Cherie (Cahen) Gold and Cathy (Zweig) Cory; daughter in-laws Kasey Cahen and Cathy (Chasin) Zweig; grandchildren Jarrad and Jillian (Gold) Noel, Oliver and Benny Cahen, Derek and Justin Zweig, Jacob, Olivia, Alexa, and Ava Zweig, Mackenzie and Nicholas Cory; great-grandchildren Vivian Zweig and Lane Zweig.
Preceding him in death are his parents Theodore and Rose (Glazer) Cahen, brothers Eugene Cahen and George Cahen, sons Michael Zweig and Farley Cahen.
