It is with great sadness that I just saw that my “old, old” friend passed away.   Marty was a friend from high school and we were part of a high school gang.  I was a year younger but hung out with his friend Jerry Dorsey (one of 3 Jerry’s in the group).  Marty and the guys spent many evenings at my house on Berkeley Road!  Whenever I would see him at Beachwood events, we would reminisce about the great times we had.  He was always a sweet, kind, wonderful guy!

So sorry for your loss.  Your father and mother opened their home in so many ways-  to me as a John Carroll student renting a room and to so many children by providing  day  care services.  I fondly remember the extended hospitality when my mom, aunt and I were invited to join a Seder dinner.  May your memories bring you comfort now and in the coming year of ‘firsts without’.

Martin was a mench, in every sense if the word!  His dedication to Sheila when her memory problems increased was true lesson of what  love and loyalty really means.  As their professor of numerous classes in the Baldwin Wallace's ILR program it was a true honor to have them in class.  As a relative through marriage, I was always interested when he shared many tales about the family and the pride he had in the accomplishes of their children and grandchildren.   It is with great sadness that I found out about his passing.  The world is a lesser place without him.

Sharon, Elaine, Jodi, Silvia and Miriam:
Sorry to hear of your dad’s passing and praying for you all that you be comforted in this time of loss.  Your parents were wonderful to me as a JCU student renting a room from them.  With four children still at home, a daycare, and 3 students in the home your dad was the epitome of a calming force.  Nothing seemed to rattle him.  He would talk about each of you with great pride and was always a good sounding board for we students trying to navigate into the real world.  May you recall the great family memories and be at peace.

Elaine I am very sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.

A beautiful and loving man. Always put others first. My children were their (Sheila and Marty’s) first daycare kids. He was so helpful and always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. 
Both Alan and I are so sorry for your loss and are glad he had a life filled with children, grandchildren and love and laughter. May he rest in peace.
