

Marvin grew up in Cleveland Heights and graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1945. Shortly thereafter, he proudly served his country in the United States Military Air Corps during World War II.
An active and energetic man throughout his life, Marvin was a longtime member of the Lakeside Yacht Club. He was an avid skier, sailor, and racquetball player, achieving two national championship titles in over-70 doubles racquetball. He also loved playing bridge and deeply cherished time spent with his friends and family.
Marvin was the owner and CEO of Magnus Automotive Distribution Company, where he worked until his retirement in 1994.
He is survived by his children, Joseph Schinagle (Bonnie), Martha Schinagle (Kim Thompson), and Anne Richman (Spencer); and his grandchildren, Allison and Laura Schinagle, Tyler and William Schinagle, Lucy Zelina (Eric), Oliver Richman (Lauren Switala), and Sonia Richman.
Marvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maxine; his parents, Oscar and Mary Schinagle; and his sister, Thelma Schinagle.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 5, at 1:30 p.m. at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Solon, Ohio.
Memorial Contributions: A strong supporter of local Jewish charities, Marviin and Maxine contributed to the construction of The Beachwood JCC and Menorah Park.
