While looking for Michaels current contact info for a consult, I just learned that he has recently passed.
Very sad, he was a gentlemans gentleman, intelligent and humble. 
Rare qualities one finds in a man, let alone in anyone, in today's time.

I knew Michael from law school. Bright, social and engaging, Michael was a tireless dedicated advocate. He believed in the needs of his clients and the administration of justice. He had a good Jewish soul. May his memory be for a blessing.

Michael was a mensch. I remember his kind demeanor (and Russian-speaking) going back to law school when I would encounter him at Hillel-sponsored gatherings. He will be missed.

I'm sure Michael will be missed throughout the Justice Center.  He was always caring and friendly to everyone at the counter in the criminal division of the County Clerk's office.

I only knew Michael in passing, as I am a fairly new member of the Justice Center community.  It was clear to me, even in that brief time, what a kind soul he was.  My condolences to the family.

I, like many others, was shocked and saddened by the news of Michael's death. It's hard to imagine not seeing him around the Justice Center with always a kind hello. I agree wholeheartedly with many who have said this before, he had an amazing legal mind which was matched by a very big heart. I remember him asking the most insightful questions and comments at many CLE's. He was an excellent advocate for his clients and sometimes he would tell me vignettes about my father which I found touching. My deepest condolences to his wife and family. Michael always treated everyone with respect and I respectfully wish Michael that you RIP.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Michael's passing since I had just seen him in Court on Monday greeting everyone with his usual sweet hellos.  Michael was extremely bright and genuinely cared about everyone he encountered.  The world will be a little colder without him.

Michael was always willing to help and volunteer whenever I sent out the call for help from Legal Aid.  He was kind and caring.  We would meet up on the rapid transit, the courthouse or around the neighborhood and he always had a smile and warm greeting for me. I am saddened at hearing this news.

My Condolences to Michael's family! This is really hard to believe, I saw Michael on Monday, 8/8/16 in the Criminal Clerk's office in the Justice Center.  We had a conversation about a client of his that I had formerly represented.  Michael seemed his usual pleasant self!  It is really hard to believe that he has gone that quickly! Mike was a wonderful and caring person who always had a smile and a positive outlook on life.  He was a great attorney and was always a shining example of what it means to constantly strive for excellence in all that he did. I have known Michael since 1980 when my wife started working at Predicasts (founded by Michael's father Sam Wolpert) He was a very kind and gentle person.  He became an attorney and dedicated his work to helping the less fortunate of this world. He was also a brilliant man.  I think he spoke seven or eight languages and extremely knowledgeable in many many subjects.  I always enjoyed talking to him.  We will greatly miss him.

He was also a champion for the mentally challenged community and was an active member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Health and Wellness Committee. I will truly miss him.

Michael was a kind sole.  From our first conversations during the CCDLA meetings at the Howard Johnson's on East 55th to our occasional sightings in the Justice Center, Michael remembered me with a pleasant hello and "how are you doing?" I was just "arguing" with Michael yesterday at the court house about Tish B'Av.  He was reminding me to fast and how some do not shave.  He had a good sole that has been redeemed by his creator.  He cared deeply for his clients, and was loyal to all who he knew.  Every person I spoke to in court house today had the same sentiment:  He was a caring, interesting individual.
