Natalie Ruth Silverberg

Natalie Silverberg, 87, passed away peacefully January 17, 2025 with loving daughters Lisa Zimmerman and Gwen Silverberg Callender at her side. Also surviving are her adoring grandchildren Talia and Lilli Zimmerman and Nathan and Maxwell Callender, to whom she was their devoted “Gramsy,” sons-in-law Rob Zimmerman and Jeff Katz, and sister-in-law Joy Priesand. Passing before Natalie was her beloved husband of 60 years Ted Silverberg and dear brother Stanley Priesand.

Born June 25, 1937 in Cleveland, Natalie graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and Western Reserve University and she worked as an elementary school teacher prior to starting her family. After raising her daughters, Natalie continued her lifelong passion for education by earning her master’s in early childhood development from John Carroll University and she worked as an educator at the Early Childhood Enrichment Center. She left to devote her time and skills to her special needs granddaughter Talia, for whom she made a tremendous difference.

Natalie was an avid bridge and tennis player and loved reading fiction. Irrepressible and authentic, Natalie was an independent spirit who cared deeply about her family and friends. Her daughters have gone onto successful careers inspired by the example of their mother whom they admired and loved so much.

Services will be held January 20, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Berkowitz-Kumin Memorial Chapel, 1985 South Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 26700 Aurora Rd, Bedford Hts, Ohio.

The family will receive family and friends on January 20, 2025 from 2-7 p.m. at the home of Lisa and Rob Zimmerman, 23149 Shelburne Rd, Shaker Hts, Ohio
