Phil, we miss you---thought you'd be o.k. by the time returned from Israel---guess we found out one cannot take anything for granted------

Phillip was the epitome of fun, the world will miss him, and so will I

I unfortunately never had the blessing of being in the same plays as Phil.  I did, however, have the good fortune to see many of the plays he was in.  His great smile always radiated the stage in a way that mere stage lights never could.  From Burt Healy to The Cowardly Lion to The Cat in the Hat, his many roles left an impact on me.  My sincere condolences to his family.

A great next door neighbor on Edgerton! Phillip was always kind to all. He had such a special exuberance for life! Though I haven't seen any of the Goldbergs in many years, please know there is a special place in my heart for all of you. I have fond memories of kick-the-can until the street lights came on to watching Mr. Goldberg and the boys shovel snow just as it was hitting the ground. Your mom and the Diamonds were so dear too. May the love and support of family and friends hold you gently during this time.

Phil has been a dear friend of mine since we met doing community theater in 1988.  He was like another uncle to my sons; he attended all our big family events, and was there for me during my husband's illness and passing a little over a year ago.  We will all miss him terribly.  Our deepest sympathies to his family.

My sympathy to your family for losing a shining star.  I worked with Phil on tours at the Cleveland Orchestra from 1983 to 1988. One of my favorite memories was a day when the orchestra woke up in Chicago, flew to Boston and played a concert, and then continued down to New York to that night's hotel.  Phil flew from Cleveland to New York, picked up 125 hotel room keys and then flew to Boston to meet us.  We handed out those keys on the flight from Boston to New York, much to the musicians surprise and delight.  Those were the kinds of things Phil did pretty much all the time.  Thanks for the memories, Phil!

So sad to hear the news of Phil's passing.  We first met as young kids (about 7 years old) at Heights Temple and stayed friends ever since.  What a great guy.  We will all miss him!!

So saddened  to hear of your loss....Phil was truly a bright star and made everyone he came in contact with that much happier.....our thoughts and prayers  are with  your family.

Phil Goldberg has been such a good friend to my family since 1988.  He's watched me and my brothers grow up, and he's been a source of laughter when my mother needed it the most.  Goodbye, Phil.  You will be dearly missed.

So sorry to hear the news. I knew him from high school and with the power of Facebook saw this post. My thoughts are with you in this day as I'm sure he grew into an even finer person then he was back then.

I am stunned and saddened. Phil was a wonderful support to so many. He was never too busy to help or to offer an encouraging word.

May I offer condolences to the family. What a tremendous loss. I have known Phil for a very long time and he and I were related in the Travel Industry for many years. I was with American Airlines, Japan Airlines covering that time span. I have always respected Phil and his work ethics.

I am heartbroken to have just learned this. I so much enjoyed seeing and talking to Phil the little I did see him. I always felt such a warmth exuding from him. He was especially solicitous and kind to my mom when she joined me on The Cleveland Orchestra tour to Asia in 1982. RIP dear Phil!

My fond memories of Phil go all the back to the laughs we had in cub scouts.  Our paths would cross regularly and it was as if we had just stopped the conversation 5 minutes earlier and we were laughing again.  Phil brought a joy and energy to everything he did.  His passing makes me profoundly sad.

I have a lot of fond memories of Philip over the years. He touched so many peoples lives. His laughter, smile and good cheer will be forever with us all.

I knew Phil through my brother, Jeff, way back in the Karamu days. He always had such a friendly smile and bear hugs for everyone. His days with the travel agency helped me see so many places. The time I ran into him at the Playhouse for the Elvis tribute, unfortunately was the last time I saw him. He will be missed by so many! I love you, Phil! My prayers are with your family!

My life is so much better for having known you for so long (25 years).  Your smile and laughter was infectious.  Your eyes always smiled.  So glad we got to share so much of life together - we could always just pick up the phone and pick up where we left off.  Rest in peace, my friend.

I performed with Phil and interacted with him often in the 90s at Beachwood Community Theatre. What a loss to the world. I can't picture Phil not smiling, and I'm sure that's how he'd want us to remember him. My spirit is with everyone affected by this loss.

I worked with Phil as a travel agent for many years and we had many laughs together.  He was a prankster and always liked playing jokes on everyone. I remember one day I came into work and he took every key off my computer keyboard and put them in a coffee cup! Unfortunately over the years we lost touch but it was the good times that I always remembered about Phil.He enjoyed life to the fullest!  God bless you Phil and may your memory live on. Phil had a huge heart and always had a cheerful smile for friends. His loss is felt by all who were lucky enough to know him.

As a member of Chevrei Tikva, Phil was a wonderful friend and an incredibly talented  man whose dynamic personality engaged all who had the pleasure to be in his presence. Phil was a beautiful person inside and out. I loved performing with him in Annie in 1994 and knowing him -- he had an infectious laugh and a truly loving spirit. I will cherish his memory always. Sending comfort to you during this difficult time and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Phil was a raging, uncontrollable, hilarious force gathered into a human form. He was full of happiness and positive energy, and it was his mission to spread it among EVERYONE - closest friends, dearest family, or complete strangers.
