I am so sorry to hear of Reed’s passing. My deepest condolences to the family.  I met Reed in the Beachwood Softball League when he played with Ralph and his brothers, and  you could not find a nicer young man. My heart goes out to his family and friends. May his memory be a blessing.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Reed’s death.  He was my first real relationship.  We met through friends the summer of ‘84. I have a wonderful memories of him that I will treasure always.  He was always a happy and caring soul.  I don’t think he had a bad bone in his body.  We kept in touch a little on Facebook.  He never forgot to wish me a happy birthday.  He always had kind words for me while my mother was going through chemo and then also after her death in July. He loved my mother and had just told me on 10/28 how much he admired my parents.  He would call her mom even if he saw her in public somewhere.  Reed could sit and talk to my parents even if I wasn’t there! He was very special and I will never forget him and his smile! They say you will never forget your first love— this is true.  My condolences  to Mary, his girls and the rest of the family.  

So lucky to have been your neighbor. Especially when during a fierce snowstorm, late at night I got stuck trying to get into my driveway with no one in sight, Magically you appeared and helped me out. I have always thought you had “wings”. Will always remember your sweet smiling face.

Reed was one of my first crushes - the older, good looking next door neighbor growing up. He was always so kind and friendly (and seemed super cool)! I was glad to have reconnected on Facebook recently.  I am truly saddened and sorry to hear of your loss of such a wonderful guy. May he be at peace.

I was so saddened to learn of Reed's passing.

I've known Reed through business for over 15 years.  He was such a good guy and an honorable business man.

When things go wrong in a deal, many show their true colors.  Reed was always the same no matter if the transaction went smooth or if it was bumpy.  He was always a beacon of honesty and somebody I could trust no matter if it was business or personal.

Knowing Reed truly made me a better person.

Reed was our next door neighbor for the last few years and was always friendly and helpful.  When he first moved in, he offered to help us move a standing video game with his trailer,  and we told him how thankful we were.  He refused any money and said "that's what neighbors are for, to help each other".  We were so happy for him after he met Mary and they planned to get married. I golfed with him a few times at Tanglewood and while I am a 90s shooter, he was much better than me.   When I asked for his advice on the course, he offered me tips on what I should be doing to improve my game.  I will miss waving hello when he was driving by, or discussing life with him when I saw him working around his house.  He was a good soul, gone too early.

We were so shocked and sad upon hearing the awful news of the loss of our dear friend Reed.  Having breakfast at the Diner will not be the same without Reed sitting on his stool with his infectious smile when you arrived.  His kind words were always of comfort.  Reed & Mary were a wonderful couple and a power of example on how to love one another.   Our hearts are broken for Mary, his girls & family.   We will miss you very much.

To all who loved Reed...my deepest sympathies...he will always have a place in my heart and his memory will never be forgotten.   He was one of the best I’ll ever have the pleasure of knowing and he made a huge impact in my life.  May you watch over Layla, Emme, and your best bud Duffy with your infectious smile.  Rest in eternal peace my dear friend.

 Reed was a close friend to my sister growing up and I have such wonderful memories of him. He was kind, soft spoken, and a dear friend to our entire family. I am so sorry to hear of this tragic loss.  My sympathy to Reed's family and fiancé.

I am shocked and heartbroken to hear about Reed. He was one of my best friends in high school and beyond.  We spent countless hours on the phone and hanging out.  He was a kind , giving  and fiercely loyal friend.  He was always there for you no matter what you needed.  Unfortunately I haven’t spoken to him in a long time-a regret I will carry with me.  My prayers  go out to his entire family and loved ones.  The world would be a much better place if there were more people like Reed. I hope he’s smiling knowing how many peoples lives he touched.

I can't say enough about Reed. it's been years but all of my memories are of him making me laugh, especially on the sidelines of football practice... He had a ton of swag... Prayers to the Gilbert family.

Wow, I’m deeply sorry and very upset to hear of Reed’s passing. He was a friend from school & we ended up crossing paths again when I bought his house while going through a heartbreaking divorce. He was sooo kind to me....as I sit here & look at the cute home he passed on to my son & I...I can’t help but think of his gentle soul & great smile. Rest In Peace my friend...what a wonderful guy, gone FAR too soon. God Bless...my deepest condolences.

Great guy who left his mark on everyone who know him.  His smile will stay with me for ever.    He will be missed....love and stregnth to all who loved him left behind.

Reed was always happy and had a smile and something nice to say. I bowled and played golf with him for many years and will be missed. I have moved to Arizona but his memory is with me always made a point in seeing him when I came back to Ohio RIP Reed 😢

We’ve lost one of the good ones!!!!!!!                                                                    Reed was a wonderful young man.       
we had the privilege of getting to know well.  I feel honored that he chose to call me Uncle Jay.  His personality and upbeat approach to life was a joy to experience.  Even when he may have been experiencing difficulties he worked hard to overcome them. We were at opposite ends of the political pole and it led to some interesting conversations, but never got in the way of our friendship.  We’re going to miss his presence in our lives.  God Bless Him and May He Rest In Peace. 

 Reed was an awesome dude!  So easy to get to know - and fun to be around.    I am very glad I had the opportunity to meet him - share time with him ..... Reed had the gift of making you feel good about yourself; may he rest in peace.  God Bless his eternal life.

Just saw you not that long ago.  We had such a great time in the neighborhood growing up.    Our mom's were friends.   I always loved all your posts that we bickered about.   You will be missed.

I am still in shock.  I have known Reed all of my life. Even though we did not talk and only saw each other on Facebook more recently I still considered him a friend. He was a pallbearer at my fathers funeral.  Thoughts and prayers to the family.
