Ronald Dombcik, born in Cleveland in 1934 to Morris and Bessie Dombcik (of blessed memory), passed away peacefully at the new year, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He married Vera (Freed) on December 25, 1955 — exactly 70 years ago. Ron was a lifelong Cleveland resident, a graduate of Heights High School in 1952, and a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.
His career was uniquely diverse, taking him from Tremco Manufacturing to owning a small business, and eventually to working as a stockbroker and money manager. Ron and Vera cherished their life together, especially during their 33 years at Walden Club.
Ron’s love for dogs was boundless, especially for his rescue dog, Alice. His quick wit, humor, and playful antics kept family and friends laughing and brought joy to all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Vera, daughters Wendy Carbone (Vincent), Debra Ticktin (Daniel), and Joanne Berkovitz (David); grandchildren Michael Carbone (Margaret), Matthew Carbone (Kate), Justin Carbone (fiancée Gabriella), Jennifer Jacobs (Matthew), Jordan Berkovitz, Ethan Berkovitz, and the late Aaron Max Berkovitz; seven great-grandchildren; his brother Jerry Dombcik (Ruth); brother-in-law Eugene Freed (Paula, deceased); and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A devoted family man and friend, Ron will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
