

Ruth Kiddell Klein was born in Youngstown, Ohio October 26, 1920. She died peacefully at the Montefiore Senior Care facility on March 3, 2014. Mrs. Klein was married for 47 years to the late James S. Klein who passed away in 1997. She graduated from Hyde Park High School in Chicago, attended Chicago Business School, and moved to Cleveland in 1947. She retired as the Office Manager from downtown Cleveland’s Smith Barney stock brokerage in 1982. Her warmth, dedication, and attention to detail were hallmarks of a career that spanned more than four decades. She was beloved by her coworkers and held in high regard by senior managers. She had the gift to put anyone at ease, making them feel they were friends for life. In her retirement, she was an active volunteer in Hebrew Benevolent Society Union. She is survived by her sister Eunice Alpern, formerly of Lorain, Ohio -- currently a resident of Richmond, VA. She was adored by her nephews Ron and Gary Alpern, Leonard Tyler, her niece Alice Larson as well as her cousins: Dale and Donald Friedland, Debbie Jacobson and Mindy Weiss. They admired her encyclopedic memory and devotion to her extended family.
A memorial service on Sunday June 1 at the Chapel at Montefiore Home One David Myers Pkwy, Beachwood, OH. begining at 10 am. The family will be receiving friends following the service until noon. Those attending the service should be award that there's a charity walk / run taking place nearby that morning Cedar Road will remain open, but a portion of Richmond Rd will be closed between 9 - 9:30 am and should be avoided.
