

Sylvia lived in Cleveland, Ohio all her life. She graduated from John Adams High School in 1938. She married her high school sweetheart, Jack Spector in 1931. Jack owned Louis Spector and Son Painting Contractors.
She loved to play golf, bridge, volunteer at many local charities, travel and host wonderful parties for family and friends. She loved people and loved to bring people together around celebrations of all kinds.
Later in life, she received her Associates Degree from Tri-C University and was subsequently hired by the University as "The Assistant to the Scholar in Residence" where she worked for 20 years co-ordinating faculty enrichment programs. In 2009, she was featured in Cleveland Magazine as "Hot Momma" for being an 87 year old woman who was sexy, beautiful and vibrant.
She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Sylvia is survived by her daughters: Paula Cohen from Boston, Fran Spector Atkins from Carmel, CA, and Amy Jenkins and her husband Matthew Jenkins from Cleveland, grandchildren: Flynn Cohen and his wife Liz Simmons and grandson Gabe from Vermont, Gwen Cohen from Aspen, CO, Abby Watson and her husband Greg Watson from Portland, Oregon, Claire Landry, her husband Matt Landry and newborn baby Jack from NYC, Andrew Atkins, his wife Alison Atkins and great grandchildren Max and Lillian, Jane Atkins Franch and her husband Adam Franch and great grandchildren Lola and Bodhi from Berkeley, CA, Kiefer Atkins and his wife Shannon Atkins from Seattle, WA, Riley Atkins and his wife Maureen Atkins from Seattle, WA, Skylar Atkins and great granddaughter Kamryn from Jackson Hole, WY.
