

Barbara Ann accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Sandy Bottom, Georgia. Once in Cleveland, she attended Greater Friendship Baptist Church where she was taught to love, trust and put her faith in God. She also attended Greater Strong Tower Apostolic Church with her family.
Barbara Ann was educated in Early County and Cleveland Public Schools. She acquired vocational training from various institutions and attended Cuyahoga Community College. She worked several jobs as an adult and had the perfect personality for her job as a BarMaid and for selling roses throughout the city. She was known by many as "The Rose Lady."
Barbara Ann was a beautiful, kind person with a giving spirit and a natural gift-of-gab. She could talk to anyone, anywhere. She enjoyed being social and spending time having deep conversations. She played Bid Whist and Chess. She loved music and was one of THEE BEST hand-dancers. She enjoyed being the life of every party or family gatherings. Barbara Ann was an amazing cook and could create the best meals, cookies, and pastries with whatever was in the kitchen.
Barbara Ann was united in marriage on December 27, 1998 to Lamont Jackson. Her previous unions to Clarence W. Smith, Sr. and Erwin B. Lawery, Sr. were each blessed with a son.
On one glad morning in December, 2022, Barbara Ann quietly passed away. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie & Will Hodge Sr., sister, Hattie V. Hodge-Wilson and brothers Will Hodge, Jr. and Larry J. Hodge.
Barbara Ann Hodge-Jackson leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Lamont Jackson; sons Erwin B. Lawery II and Clarence W. Smith, Jr. grandsons Demetrius Cheeks, Erwin B. Lawery III and Clarence W. Smith III; granddaughters Cheyenne Smith and Chlo'e Smith; 11 great-grandchildren. Her Legacy.
Mother -n-law, Rose Jackson; bonus children Raquel "Lady" and Keith Hodge; special daughters Cherise Robinson and Mary LeFlore; brothers James Davis (Mary), Charles Hodge and Darryl Hodge; her sisters, Linda Bradford, Debra Williams and Ileane Jeffries (Thomas); uncles Marcellus Hodge (Lucretia) and Daniel Sapp, Sr.; aunts Eulatise Pittmon, Norean Evans, Emma Hodge and Barbara Jean Hodge-Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends from East 112th , Knowlton, Superior, St. Clair, East 93rd, Raymond and King Kennedy.
