Diosa was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Juan Rivera Colon and Natividad DeJesus Perez. Diosa was the beloved wife of 59 years to Luis R. Gomez; loving mother of Maria Soto, Sandra Gomez, Vivian Espada (Anthony) and Lissette Lopez; cherished grandmother of Anthony Espada Jr., Michael Mullins (Lisette), Justin Espada, Victoria Bonaiuto (Anthony), Ashley Mullins, Reinaldo Soto, Henry Pettry, Gia Lopez, Nicholas Lopez and great-grandmother of Michael Mullins Jr., Jayden Vasquez, Adrian Suon, Aubrey Nash, Mya Fernandez-Espada, Parker Espada, Lexton Espada, Israel Soto, Luna Mullins and Gianella Bonaiuto; dear sister of Ana Violeta Rivera DeJesus, Maria De Los Angeles Gomez, Liduvina Rivera DeJesus and Juan Orlando Rivera DeJesus; adored aunt, cousin and friend of many.
Mom truly cherished her role as a nurturing figure for all the children around her. There was nothing that brought her more joy than caring for them and watching them thrive. One of her simple pleasures was immersing herself in her beloved novelas, where she would lose track of time. She had a heart full of thoughtfulness, always considering the feelings and needs of those around her. Hosting parties and dinners brought her immense happiness, and she delighted in cooking generous meals for family and friends. With her warm smile, she would always welcome everyone with an open door, brewing the perfect cup of coffee while listening compassionately, never offering judgment. And how she adored sweets! Her sweet tooth brightened simple moments, reminding us all of life’s little pleasures.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 4PM-8PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 14768 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, Ohio.
