Edwin Cesar Perez Sr.

He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, the youngest son of Carmen G. Gonzalez and the late Rafael A. Perez. Cesar is the beloved husband of 31 years to Janet (nee Nieves); loving father of Tatiana J. (Robert, IV) Mayo, Edwin C. Perez Jr. and Araceli M. Perez; cherished grandfather of Robert Antonio Mayo, V; dear brother of Juan J., Ana H. (Heriberto Fernandez), Nelson P. (Carmen Vega-Perez), Juan M. (Angie) and Luis A. Perez and brother-in-law of Jacqueline Nieves, Victor I. (Maritza) Nieves,and Betzaida (Efrain) Roman; adored uncle and cousin of many.

Cesar and Janet met in 1989 and married August 22, 1992, sharing many years of wonderful memories with their family and friends. His motto was First God and then family, and everything else would fall into place. He was kind, caring, and willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Cesar was always positive and was a good listener who would sit and talk for hours, both offering and accepting advice. He loved his native country of Puerto Rico and his visits home, nature, and music - both spanish and soft rock. He was recently diagnosed in June with cancer and was a true warrior until the end. He touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by all.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 5PM-9PM at Craciun Berry Funeral Home, 7200 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10AM at La Sagrada Familia, 7719 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
