Eugene Bowman Jr. was born on October 17th 1932 , in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the eldest of two sons born to Eugene Bowman Sr. and Hilda Goodlett, and a beloved older brother to Ronald Bowman.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Bowman; his son, Steve Bowman; his daughter, Kim Bowman; his brother, Ronald Bowman.
Eugene attended Central High School but left early to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a paratrooper; a role he often joked was the reason his knees hurt later in life. During his service, he earned two Bronze Stars and achieved the rank of Sergeant-a position well suited to his natural ability to lead and tell people what to do.
After returning home to Cleveland, Eugene completed his education at Max S. Hayes High School, earning a diploma in Steam Power Engineering. Eugene married the love of his life, Joyce Adams. From their union, they were blessed with two children, Steve and Kim. As his daughter Kim often said, Eugene was "a good daddy."
He spent many years working for the City of Cleveland, Division of Sewer, from which he retired in the late 1980s to early 1990s. In his free time, Eugene enjoyed bowling, fishing, and sitting on the porch. Above all else, he loved his family deeply.
Eugene leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Brandon and Brittney Bowman (also Bryanna); great grandchildren, his uncle, Edward Bowman; along with many extended family members and friends who loved and cared for him.
He will be remembered for his service, his strength, and his unwavering love for family.
