Field Barnes

12 mars , 195818 août , 2019

Our beloved Field Barnes, affectionately known as “Bam Bam” went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Field Barnes entered this world on March 12, 1958 in Wilson, North Carolina, the sixth child born to the union of Arthur Lee Sr. and Lelia Mae Barnes, both who preceded him in death. The Barnes family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1959. Field grew up in the Glenville area with his six siblings and parents. Field gave his life to Christ at an early age. Field was educated in the Cleveland Public Schools district; he was an Alumni of John Hay High School “Class of 1976”. Field also lived in Lorain, Ohio for several years this is where he met, fell in love with and married Janet Barnes in 1980. Field was employed by Ford Motor Company for many years until he decided to become an entrepreneur. He loved being an entrepreneur, he owned a dry-cleaning business, a convenient store, rental property and bars. The staple of his legacy, The Fireside Lounge opened in 1989 is one of the most successful bars in East Cleveland. Field was pillar in the East Cleveland community. He supported many political agendas that would better the lives of East Cleveland Residents and Business Owners. For many years he also coached little league baseball for the East Cleveland Indians. Field had an electrifying personality and lived life on his own terms. He was an avid sports fan, who loved cooking, singing, wearing suits and most of all fellowshipping with his FAMILY. At every family gathering you could catch him cooking and entertaining the kids with games. Field had the biggest heart he would cuss you out and help you all in the same breath. The gift that Field will be most remembered for was his capacity to love everybody and give of himself. Field has fulfilled his purpose here on earth and transitioned home to glory where he was welcomed by his parents Lelia Mae and Arthur Lee Barnes Sr; sisters Claudette Foster and Gwendolyn Gibson; brothers Arthur Lee Barnes Jr. and Michael Barnes. Field is survived by his wife Janet; his children Sharon Dorsey, Janiel Barnes, Demontelius Clarke, Trinity Barnes; stepdaughter Debanisha Clarke; his grandchildren Jyresha, Desiree, Amari, Janaya, Zyaire, and Jaylen; his brothers Frederick (Eleanor) ,Leland, Kenny (Yvette) all of Cleveland, Ohio; his aunts Christine Moore and Margaret Dickinson (Wilson, North Carolina), great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. For all those who were touched by the presence of Field will always remember him for his spirit of truth and honesty, his love for living life to the fullest, his unwavering love for his family. We all know that Field is in a better place, we will miss his love, laughter, and energetic zeal for life.
