“Many plans to a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” (Proverbs 9:21)
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens. A time to be born and a time to die.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Janet Elizabeth Barron entered this life on August 11, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, born to John Oliver and Dorothy (Elizabeth) Taylor. The beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on March 7, 2025. She was baptized at an early age.
Janet was a graduate of John Hay High School, Cleveland, Ohio. She subsequently took courses at Cuyahoga Community College. During her lifetime she had two jobs that she loved as an office manager. Managing the office of Alan Goodman and the other managing the office of an accounting firm, Tony Smith & Company. They both gave her a sense of purpose.
Janet’s one true love was her daughter Jamilla who was diagnosed with sickle cell at an early age. Janet poured her life into Jamilla and when her grandsons were born Janet played an active role in their lives, getting them involved in the boy scouts, various basketball camps and mentoring programs for young boys. She would do anything for them, and she made that her mission in life.
Janet was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember Janet not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Taylor.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Jamilla Chantal Baron of Cleveland, Ohio, sisters Margaret O. Taylor-Jordan of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Barbara (Ray) Sams of Savanna, Georgia, her brother John (Veronica) Taylor Jr., grandsons, Terrell Maurice Riddle Jr., Trevaughn Lasean Riddle and Ja’Sean Demetrius Riddle.
Although Janet’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
