Throughout his life, Kevin cultivated many lifelong friendships. He made
friends every place he went. He was a natural explorer who was not afraid to
get up and go. He was kind and soft-spoken, and did not believe in saying
good-bye. He always had time to answer questions or solve a problem, no
matter how big or small.
Kevin was also an avid sports fan and loved all Cleveland teams: the
Browns, the Cavaliers, and the Indians baseball team. He was also a
HUGE pro wrestling fan.
Kevin was educated in Cleveland Catholic school system and graduated
from Chanel High School in 1983. He attended Cleveland State
University where he took up Urban Studies immediately after high school.
Later, he attended the Westside Institute of Technology where he obtained
a certificate for HVAC.
Kevin met and was introduced to Colette A. Wells in 1994 who became
his best friend. They later married on June 27, 1998 at Williams Chapel
C.O.G.I.C. in Cleveland, Ohio. They did not have children but they were
blessed to have many nieces and nephews.
In 1997 he received Christ under the leadership of Supt. James C. Scott at
Scott’s Chapel C.O.G.I.C. From 1998 to 2010 at Scott’s Chapel he became
a Sunday School teacher, member of the Trustee Board, and a Deacon. He
was a TRUE servant of the Lord.
In 2011 under the leadership of Supt. Lanre Onamusi he became Sunday
School Superintendent and Y.P.W.W. Superintendent. He also was
President of the Headquaters District for Y.P.W.W. He worked with the
Finance Committee for his local church and the Headquarters District of
Cleveland, Ohio.
Kevin was employed over 10 years as a manager for the McDonald’s
Restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio. Later, he was also employed with the
Cleveland Metropolitan School District for 21 years until his battle with
cancer ended.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Colette Alexandra, his siblings: James L.
Jeffries, Anita Billingslea, Bruce Hayden, Dana S. Jeffries, Donna A.
Jeffries, Patricia A. Jeffries, Monica Jeffries-Malik and many nieces and
nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Tyrone
S. Jeffries and Gregory (Jeffries) Griffin.
