She was born in Cleveland on December 17, 1943. Linda started her career as a social worker and after receiving an MBA from Cleveland State University, she moved to hospital administration. After a brief stint with Holy Cross Hospital in Maryland, she returned to Cleveland as the Executive Director for Care Alliance, focusing on providing healthcare for the homeless, helping to grow the organization to serve thousands of needy residents. Linda was a lifelong learner and world traveler. At age 57, she joined the Peace Corps for an assignment in the Dominican Republic. After her retirement, she traveled solo around the world, on frequent flier miles, blogging about her adventures. She craved adventure, loved living a bit on the edge, and pushing herself out of her comfort zone. Her heart was in helping people through countless hours of volunteering for her community. Linda could frequently be seen at a music, theater, or learning venue with friends and family, she always knew what was happening in town. Linda will be remembered for encouraging her friends and family to have grand adventures.
Linda is survived by her son Daniel DiPinto, daughter Lisa DiPinto (spouse Heidi Halleck and daughter Allie Halleck), sister Kathleen Terry, Uncle Charles Eckley, many wonderful friends including her dear friend of 52 years, Roxanne Wallace and her beloved dog Declan. A small memorial gathering will be held in the spring.
To honor Linda, donations can be made to Care Alliance or Blank Canvas Theater.
