

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MS. LOLA MARIE GORDON
Lola was born July 13, 1940 in Itta Bena, Mississippi. She lived there until the age of 8, when her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She attended schools in Cleveland and at a young age she joined Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church where gave her life to the Lord and sang in the choir. She graduated from John Hay in 1959. Lola worked odd jobs while she studied for her cosmetology license where she soon after she opened up her own beauty shop. She worked in the shop for 45 years, soon after she returned she became a home Health aid for another 7 years.
Lola enjoyed sewing, baking cookies, and sweet potato pies, doing 1000 piece puzzles, word search and everybody knows that she was famous for her garden salads and her pasta salads, watching westerns, reading the Good Book and the biblical dictionary and writing in her journal. She loved roasting people, my last roast to her was when you sit at the table, and your brother asks you, "are you gonna eat your cornbread, you make sure you tell him yeah, you got some buttermilk LOL." Her favorite saying was Nigga Please, and you get away from Me. She had a fun life.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Big Ma, Mrs. Rebeca Streeter, her mother Ms. Emma Gullatt, her aunts, Lillie and Josephine, and her brother Robert Lee Adams.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Sylvia Lynn Gordon, 2 grandchildren, Andre Demetrius Edwards Jr., Kiah NaShae Edwards, 2 great grandchildren Andre, Kingslei Edwards, Nasir Princeton Edwards, 1 brother John Westley Adams, 4 nieces Nancy, Suzzette, Racheal, Sandra, 3 nephews John Jr., Michael, Steven and a host of relatives and friends.
My mother went to heaven to be with our Father the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday April 13, 2022 at 6:45 PM, It was peaceful and all of Natural causes. She lead a beautiful life.
