

Louise "Babe" Ivory Dobson Hollins, a remarkable woman whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many, passed away on July 2, 2023 in her home. She was born on December 1, 1943, in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Thomas Dobson Sr and Eloise Howell Dobson.
Babe was a beloved sister to her sibling, Thomas (Humpy) Dobson and his wife, Deborah Dobson; Eloise (Fannie) Dobson Thomas and her late husband, Eugene Thomas; Shirley Dobson Johnson and her husband Joe Johnson; the late Bill Dobson and his wife, Willa Mae Dobson, Rosie Dobson Jackson and her husband, Jimmy Jackson; George Dobson and his wife, Betty Dobson, and Susie Dobson Dawson and her husband, Larry Dawson.
Babe is survived by her loving daughter, Tanneia Hollins-Tate and her son-in-law, Myron Tate Sr; her sons, Thomas Hollins, Joseph Hollins III, and Percy Clark; and her grandchildren, Tamyra Tate, Janiah Tate, Savannah Tate, Myron Tate Jr, Jeremy O'Neal, Tre'Shaun Weekly, Maya Weekly, and Kayla Weekly; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She held a special place in her heart for her children and grandchildren and took great joy in watching them grow. They will always remember Babe's love, guidance, and the precious memories they shared together.
In her earlier years, Babe experienced the profound loss of her first son, David Lee Dobson, who preceded her in death in 1959. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she started her employment as a domestic engineer in 1960. It was during this time that she met and married her best friend, Joseph Hollins Jr. Together, they welcomed Joseph's son Alvin O'Neal (who preceded her in death in 2014). into thier lives in 1961. Over the years, Babe and Joseph had three children of their own; Thomas, Joseph and Tanneia. Though their marriage ended in separation, Babe and Joseph remained the closest of friends.
Babe;'s capacity to love extended beyond her immediate family. She welcomed and embraced Donta and Percy Clark as her sons, raising them with the same love and care as her biological children. Additionally, she opened her heart to her great nephew, Ramon Dobson, whom she raised as her own.
Throughout her life, Babe had a deep appreciation for different cultures and a special affection for her hometown. She made an annual pilgrimage to celebrate the 8th of August Emancipation Day in Paducah, Kentucky, reuniting with cherished family and friends. Babe's faith was an integral part of her life, as she faithfully attended New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board No.2, welcoming fellow worshipers with her bright smile.
Babe's joy could be found in the simple pleasures of life. She loved engaging in spirited card games during family gatherings, cherishing the laughter and camaraderie shared around the table. Fishing provided her with a sense of tranquility and inner peace, allowing her to connect with nature and find solace in the waiting.
Above all, Babe cherished her role as a grandmother. She showered her grandchildren with affection, spoiling them with love and creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Babe's legacy will be remembered through the indelible impact she made on the lives of those around her. Her warm smile, her unwavering love, and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will be a beacon of light, guiding us with the love and reminding us of the joy she brought into the world.

A visitation for Louise will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A wake will occur Friday, July 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 14, 2023 at 10:30 AM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44112. An interment cleveland memorial garden will occur.
