Marcelo Alicea Ramos

Marcelo Alicea Ramos, age 99, of Strongsville, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Marcelo was born May 1, 1923 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Bartolo Alicea and Maria Ramos. He is the loving father of Maria (Guillermo) Rodriguez, Donna (Carl, deceased) Dietz and David (Christi) Alicea; cherished grandfather of Judie (Felix) Ruiz, Luis Ruiz Jr. (deceased), Carlos Ruiz, Jeffrey (Shelley) Dietz, Matthew (Michelle) Dietz, Phillip (Jen) Dietz, Shannon Dietz, Nathan Dietz, Dana (Nick) Kuznik, Zachary (Anna) Alicea and Jake Alicea; great-grandfather of Xavier, Daysha, Mariah, Angelina, Gregory, Nick, Luis "LJ", Carlos Jr. "CJ", Johan, Malachi, Jahsel, Dante, Lacey, Allyson, Jocelyn, Taylor, Jordan, Giovanni, Evelyn, Xavier, Carlee, Gaven, Jaden, Salvatore and Marcelo and great-great grandfather of Zuhri, Jasper, Jaxon and Leo; dear brother of Silveria, Andres, Dominga, Honorata and Meliton; adored uncle of many. He is a veteran of the US Army honorably discharged in 1945 and was a welder by trade. Marcelo lived a fulfilled life. He loved his family, friends, baseball and rice and beans. He will be remembered for his great smile, great cooking, family nicknames and family gatherings. A visitation for Marcelo will be held Friday, October 7, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 14768 Lorain Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44111 where funeral services will be held on Saturday, 11:00 AM. A committal service with military honors will occur Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44270.
