

late Jerry W. and Cenus L. Lowe. She was the second oldest of thirteen
children. She was preceded in death by seven brothers: Donald, James,
Clarence, Leandrus, John, Willie Fred, and Jerry, Jr.; five sisters: Luvenia
Beard, Eugenia Finley, Ervie Vines, Louise Wilson and Cenus McMillian.
She confessed Christ at an early age, and joined the family of believers at
Friendship Baptist Church, Wadley, Alabama. Her current church home
was Community Christian Church where she was a dedicated and faithful
member.
Erma married William 0. Brasfield (deceased) on July 17, 1944. And to
this union six loving children were born: Doris Mathis, Lois King, Otis
Brasfield, Curtis Brasfield, Mary Brasfield and Rev. Gregory Brasfield.
She enjoyed reading the Bible, bowling, line dancing, walking, and playing
dominos. She loved to cook large dinners and have all of her family
fellowshipping together. The best gift Erma gave to her family was teaching
them about the love of Jesus, and she exhibited this during her lifetime. She
was a cashier and retired from Dairy Mart.
Erma was a dedicated member of Helen S. Brown Senior Center where she
volunteered and enjoyed the many activities and trips they provided.
She leaves to cherish her memory her six children: Doris Mathis, Lois King
(James), Otis Brasfield, Curtis Brasfield (Deborah), Mary Brasfield, and
Rev. Gregory Brasfield (Patricia); thirteen (13) grandchildren: Stephanie
(Alvin), Berlinda, Terrance, Apryl, Meschelle, Kiayam, Anitra, Gregory
(Patricia), Nakeya (Almad), Ebonie (Brandon), Curtis, Jr., Deonte’, Rajek;
twenty-one (21) great grandchildren: Terreasa, Terrell, Shakirra, Kamal,
Ryan, Daniel, Rajek Jr., Sophia, Sasha, Savannah, Hyland, Gregory, Gregg,
Kahris, Daija, Laila, Umar Jr., Asia, Minitra, Maddix and Dash; four (4)
great great grandchildren: Shakyra, Umar, III, Serenity, and Jayviar. Lamar
Malcolm was loved like a grandson.
