

Iris graduated from Warrensville Heights High School in 1974. She attended the Ohio State University and Cuyahoga Community College. She married Joseph Donald (deceased) and to this union gave birth to three children: Monique, Joseph and Marchelle. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom for many years before returning to the workforce, where she was employed by the Swagelok Company for 30 years.
Iris loved to cook and host lively dinner parties, as well as other get-togethers. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, was a talented interior designer and frequented museums, festivals and concerts. She had an appreciation for the theater and enjoyed going to the movies. She was also an avid foodie and had a fascination with cars and trucks. She kept herself well-informed and up to date on current events. Most of all she adored being a grandmother to her four grandsons: Joseph, Hannibal, Okang and Xango.
Iris treasured her sisterly bond of 50 plus years with Ms. Pamela Parker, whom she met in middle school.
Iris made her transition on June 30, 2019. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Joseph Donald; parents Mary Frances (step-father Stanley) Edwards; father Louis Jefferson; grandparents Anna Mae Thomas and Jeff Artis; and Aunt and Uncle Mildred and Elijah Neal. She is survived by daughters Monique and Marchelle; brother Mark Anthony Jefferson; grandsons Joseph, Hannibal, Xango and Okang; aunt Helen Rufus; uncle Fred Artis and her best friend of 50 plus years Ms. Pamela Parker. Her memory will be cherished by a host of cousins, extended family and dear friends.
