Reginald Leon Ware, affectionately known as “Reggie,” was born on March 5th, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, to his loving parents Mamie and William Ware. He embraced his faith early in life, accepting God as his Lord and Savior and being baptized at a young age. Reggie attended Glenville High School, where his athletic spirit shone through as he excelled in both football and track.
In 1969, Reggie embarked on a lifelong journey of love and commitment when he married Sharon Morris. In November 1970, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the Army, contributing to the noble cause of defending his nation. The union with Sharon blessed Reggie with three wonderful children: Regina, Reginald, and Richard.
After his time in the army, Reggie embarked on a diverse career path. He worked at Republic Steel and served as a tow truck driver for the East Cleveland Police Department, showcasing his dedication to public service. In 2010, Reggie made a move to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he primarily resided, although he also lived in Atlanta and Stone Mountain, Georgia. Regardless of his location, Reggie remained a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, and Kansas City Chiefs, displaying his unwavering loyalty to his favorite football teams.
Reggie had an appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, relishing Corned Beef sandwiches from Superior Deli, Kim’s Wings & Polish Boys, and savoring Old English Beer and Hennessy. He had a soft spot for Cadillac cars, and his love for these automobiles was evident to all who knew him.
Above all, Reggie cherished moments spent with his family and friends. His warm smile, friendly demeanor, and generous spirit endeared him to all those fortunate enough to cross his path. In his journey, Reggie experienced the loss of loved ones, including his sister Ellen “Tootie” Wagstaff, brothers William “Billie” Ware Jr. and Floyd Ware, as well as his beloved grandson Richard “Joe-Joe” Ware.
Reggie’s memory lives on through his daughter Regina, sons Reginald and Richard, sister Beverly, brothers Robert and Carl, grandson DeVaughn, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and enduring connections that span generations.
