Robert was born to father Dominick D'Amore and mother Anna D'Amore Lesinsky (nee Sneck). The youngest of ten siblings, only sisters Genevieve Noar and Helen Thomas survive him; John, Richard, Daniel, Leo, Joseph, Albert and Josephine Ritenour predeceed him in death, as well as step father Frank "Farmer" Lesinsky.
With wife of 64 years Dianne D'Amore (nee Kaputa) Robert had three children, Joseph Dominic (deceased), Linda (Ronald) Bomba and Jennifer (Patrick) Orwig, two grandchildren, Ronald and Brett Bomba, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Among Robert's proudest accomplishments, besides the life he built with his wife and family, was his Naval Service which occured from 1956 to 1962.
