Allen Buffington

Allen Buffington, 67, of Clinton passed away February 21, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Bonnie (Moon) Buffington. Al was born in Racine, WV on October 27, 1944, the son of the late Joseph and Martha (Estep) Buffington.

He was a self-employed contractor specializing in home improvement, serving the Shoreline area for 27 years. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman,. He was a member of the Northeast Big Buck Club and served as assistant director, a member of the Guilford Sportsman Club and a life time member of the NRA. He was a familiar face in Clinton who will be sadly missed.

Besides his wife of 45 years he is survived by his three sons, Joseph Buffington and his wife Donna of Clinton; Jeff Buffington and his wife Carey of Huntersville, NC; and Jamie Buffington and his wife Shara of Enfield, NH. He is also survived by his siblings Thomas Buffington of West Haven; Judy Clark and Bruce Buffington both of NC; and Dewey Buffington of FL; 9 grandchildren Monica, Joseph, Megan, Emily, Madison, Amelia, Jack, Ann and Chase.

Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home 80 E. Main St., Clinton on Friday February 24, 2012 from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 11am. Interment will be private.
