

She was born on December 7, 1936, in New Haven, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Farren) Warner.
She was the widow of Karl G. Berchtold. Carol lived in Killingworth for 58 years after getting married.
Carols passion was her family and friends whom she loved very much. She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She loved spoiling them all and talked about them to anyone that would listen to her. She loved her home that she and her late husband built and took great pride in it. She loved decorating her home especially for Christmas which she made special year after year. She had a warm heart and was loved by all that met her. She was truly a special person that will be missed by many.
Mrs. Berchtold is survived by her children Karl Berchtold, Karen Lewis, and Debbie Maggi (Steve), all of Killingworth; siblings Richard Warner of Wallingford, Barbara LaFleur and brother in law Bob of Meriden, and Donna Grehl of Guilford; grandchildren Cherie (Russell) Green, Stephen and Nicholas Maggi, and Christopher Lewis; great grandchildren Russell, Timothy, and Sean Green. She was also predeceased by siblings Diane and Jack Warner. Also many nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held on Sunday December 20th from 3-5pm at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday December 21st at 10am in St. Lawrence Church, 7 Hemlock Dr., Killingworth. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Killingworth.
