She was the widow of Peter Alfano.
Charlotte was born on October 25, 1927, in New Haven, the daughter of John and Charlotte (Reynolds) Freitag.
Charlotte enjoyed watching football, especially her New York Giants and Notre Dame with her grandsons, working on word search puzzle books, reading books late into the night and sleeping past noon. Always up for a road trip adventure, she was the first person in the car once the date was set. She loved to plant flowers and work outside in the yard. She was always the life of the party and her laugh was legendary and unforgettable to all who knew and loved her.
Charlotte is survived by her sons Robert and his wife Susan of Clinton and Lee and his wife Maggie of Spotsylvania, VA; daughter-in-law Patricia Alfano of West Haven; grandchildren Melissa, Dawn, Robert, Jr., Peter, Jr., Michael, Craig, and Bryan Alfano, Kimberlee Alfano Drago, and Timothy Alfano; and 21 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Charlotte was predeceased by her son Peter, Sr.; granddaughter Renee Alfano Kostenko, MD, twin infant grandchildren; and siblings Raymond, Elsie, John, and Al.
