David Wayne Peters, 55 of Durham, beloved husband of Teresa (Kucmerosky) Peters died peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Middlesex Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Weymouth, MA, son of the late Theodore Peters and Elizabeth (Driscoll) Peters of Killingworth. He grew up in Clinton, CT and has lived in Durham since 1999. He also lived in Alamogordo, NM for 4 years. He was a long time employee of Tilcon, North Branford.
He was an avid hiker, kayaker and backpacker and enjoyed section- hiking the Appalachian Trail. He was a “Trail Angel” who built a shelter for through-hikers to use on his property and a former Trail Manager on Mt. Higby. He was a potato chip enthusiast and had a collection of potato chip bags from all over the world lining his garage walls. He was good at fixing things and building and refinishing furniture. He always knew the right thing to say and his humor and dry wit will be sorely missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lauren, and son, Eric, and Sisters Cheryl (Jim) Cameron of Mt. Juliet, TN; Debra Peters of Williamsburg, NM; Linda Barcellona of Clearwater, FL and Patti Peters of Middletown, CT; and several nieces and nephew.
